Developer Tab in Excel

Table of Contents

The Developer tab is useful if you want to create macros, work with XML files, or insert form controls. It is hidden by default, but you can turn it on in less than a minute.

Follow these simple steps:

  1. Right-click anywhere on the Ribbon (the top menu area in Excel), then choose Customize the Ribbon.
  2. In the Excel Options window, look at the right side.
Make sure Main Tabs is selected.
  3. Find Developer in the list and check the box next to it.
  4. Click OK to save the changes.
  5. The Developer tab will now appear on the Ribbon, usually next to the View tab.
